PROJECT 1: FINAL VILLA SAVOYE PARTI DRAWINGS

Please click on image to enlarge.

This Parti attempts to demonstrate the villa's core structure. The Living space, the most important part of the building is elevated above the ground by columns being placed in a grid like fashion. This approach in efficiency and the advancement of materials make is possible for internal walls to be non-load bearing and allows for free flowing space throughout the villa.

A Parti illustrating some basic geometry such as the use of circles and squares, linear lines and arches were made apparent in Le Corbusier’s design. These primordial shapes have been linked to the human body in the diagram of the Vitruvian Man in a form to express beauty.

Regarding enclosures, this particular parti is trying to emphasis the living space to be the most significant space of this villa. It is a focal point in its entirety, whereby views of the surrounding environment can be seen from any position as you are up high from the ground encircled by ribbon windows on each façade.

Circulation on ground and first floor are being expressed with different hatching to show movement from outside to inside. Connections from external to internal spaces with different line weights clearly displays public to private areas of the villa.
